Tragedy in Casco Bay

On the morning of June 29, 1941, the 44 foot
pleasure craft Don left Dyers Cove in Harpswell
for a day trip to Monhegan Island. Passengers
included 34 people from Rumford and Mexico,
Maine. She did not return and the wreckage was
never found, though bodies were found from Cape
Small to Biddeford Pool in the following days.
